"Oh, I've convinced Jon, it's just that no one will join." Alanna sighed. "I suppose... I just wasn't thinking properly." She frowned and made a face. "This is strange. I mean, I know things are different here, but this is really strange."

Keladry nodded her agreement, "It seems time is strangely affected here as well... And it's not that no one will join... there are some young girls who want to try for knighthood that I've met in my travels," she encouraged.

"Why don't they become a page?" Alanna asked, hoping she didn't sound too dejected. She was excited Keladry had done it, but it wasn't enough. Surely they weren't the only two women who wanted to be knights.

Alanna let out a loud laugh. "Jon would be at a loss without her anyhow." She stretched, trying to relieve some of the pain in her hands. They still got stiff from old wounds.

Keladry saw the movement, "I noticed you practicing the Shang style combat?" she asked in interest. She'd been taught by them as well, but Alanna had performed some moves Kel was unfamiliar with.

Alanna forced her mind away from Liam as she answered. "I trained with the Shang Dragon during my journey to and from the Roof of the World. I like to keep up with what I learned." She shrugged.
