She grinned before digging in and taking a few more, "So what's your favorite among all of these?"

"The wings I suppose." Squall replied as he took a few and put them on his plate.

Esmeralda let him have the majority of the wings as she took a few things from the other plates, loving the potato skins. "We had potatoes in Paris, but never like this."

"They're not particularly healthy but they taste good." Squall admitted.

She shrugged, "I don't care all that much about health. Food is food and I'm grateful for what I can get." She was far too used to going without food to be too picky about what she consumed.

"Health is important." Squall said. "Bad food is good only in moderation."

She looked up at him in slight confusion, "Bad food is never good, not even in moderation. Mold doesn't taste good at all. Trust me. I mean, I can deal with it when I have to but... I'd rather not."

"Bad as unhealthy." Squall said. Then he frowned. "Have you heard from Clopin?"

She glanced down, "He convinced a few to come here, but not many. My people can be a bit superstitious, and that doesn't help."

"Are there any lores or legends got you to play the story off of?" Squall asked. "Give them a false prophet or something."

Esmeralda glared at him, "My people are superstitious, not stupid. I'm not going to lie to them to try to cheat them into doing something they don't want to do."

"Then have some of the ones who came here, go back go spread the word about how good it is here." Squall said. "They hear it enough from people they trust and they'll come."

She sighed, "You think we haven't tried that? Most of the ones who are here, were friends of mine or Clopin's. He wasn't really liked by the older more traditional Rromani to begin with, due to his youth and his support of me when Paris burned. The ones who've stayed think we're only leading our people to destruction."

Squall shrugged. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink." Squall said.

She looked up at him and laughed bitterly, "If only I could be so damn apathetic about the people I grew up with."
