Esmeralda thanked the waiter as she was seated at a booth for two and ordered a water to drink. She'd recently gotten some clothes that fit in a little better with what people wore in this town, so she was wearing a simple outfit of black jeans and a navy blue blouse. Esmeralda was lucky in getting a spot where he could see her pretty easily when he came in the door.

Squall walked into the restaurant. He had opted to leave his sword at home. It tended to make people uncomfortable but that did not mean he was not armed. The soldier in him would not let him relax.

Squall pulled back his jacket enough to show her that he had two guns attached to his side and a knife in the jacket pocket. "It seems people are less afraid when they cannot see a weapon." Squall said. "Nice clothes."

She shrugged, "Since I'm a paid worker now, I figured it would makes sense. Besides, sticking out doesn't necessarily ensure survival."
