"Right. Half sail helps avoid water spouts..." Tifa murmured. She had seen a few of those. Cid had to fly over them in the airship - Shera. "Do you face rough waters often?"

He looks over "Sometimes even when chasing a ship. Only upside of storms is the high winds give us a boost at full sail" he said. Loud booming is heard as they could see dark clouds rolling in, right in their path back to New Iguana "Ready?" he asked with a grin.

"What? Now?" Tifa asked in surprise. She looked up at him. "What do we do, Captain?" She was willing to take orders from him if it meant they made it to New Iguana in one piece. She knew nothing about the ropes to pull and she didn't want to get in the way.

Edward just smiles as he looks over "Your the captain for now. After all, your at the wheel and thus your the captain" he said.

"You're putting an inexperienced captain at the wheel," Tifa replied. She glanced over the side of the ship. The waves weren't getting too rough yet.

He nods "We will be fine!" Edward yelled as he laughed.

Tifa gave him an exasperated look. She took a firm hold of the wheel. She scanned the ocean, trying to find the best method to navigate them to the city. She took a breath. She knew she could hold the wheel in place and maneuver it. The waves slowly started to get rougher and rougher.

"Orders captain?" Edward yelled as they looked to her for guidance this day.

Tifa cast him a slightly panicked look before she realized that he wasn't the only one looking at her. His crew was too. "Half sails!" she shouted as winds started to pick up. She gripped the wheel firmly in hand.

They echoed out as they put the sail to half sail and started to ride the wind.

Tifa firmly gripped the wheel. The more the winds picked up the harder the wheel tried to fight against her. The waves weren't too bad, she realized. The ship was swaying but for the most part she had picked up on the pattern of the waves and how to steer the ship.

They all holler as the firstmate, the new one and a red head, spoke up "She's quite the helmsman captain!"
"Aye that she is!"

Tifa grit her teeth. These men were depending on her to steer them to safety. She couldn't let them down now, despite her own feelings that they probably had a better helmsman in their own captain than in her. And with luck, the city was growing nearer. Though Edward didn't tell her how she was supposed to 'park' the boat by the docks if they were bobbing around like a cork on the water. She didn't want to damage his boat.

From nearby, one man shouted "Rouge wave!" as everyone braced for impact. The conditions of this went on for a good hour till they got out of it in one piece. They all chuckle and laugh "Damn fine work miss!"
"Third best helmsmen I ever met! Right behind the first mate and our Captain!" he said as they all seemed.... happy to have her here.

At the shout of rouge wave, Tifa fearfully peered over the railing. "Is everyone okay?" she demanded, and when she got a chorus of yes, she breathed a sigh of relief. She grit her teeth and tried even harder to make the path smooth until they made it to port.
She was relieved things smoothed out once they made it to the docks and the ship no longer needed her careful hand to guide it as it was moored. She smiled wearily down at the men who had trusted her enough to keep them safe, perhaps for once feeling like this was right... Maybe being a bar maid wasn't for her after all.
