Esmeralda felt her eyes get heavy as the rhythmic sound of the water from the shower lulled her and the warmth of the room seeped into her bones. She figured she should probably take a shower as well when he was finished. Then she was reminded of the fact she had no other clothes with her and she sighed in frustration. After a while, she felt herself drift off to sleep still propped up against his bed.

Anakin soon came out in a light shirt and under shorts. He looked to Esmeralda to see she was asleep. He gave a smile as he quietly picked her up and put her on the bed. He covered her with the blanket and smiled at her. "Goodnight." He goes to his makeshift bed and lays on the floor. This was no worse the the stone bed he grew up sleeping on. Though he couldn't sleep yet as he thought of his mother.

Esmeralda gasped as she jerked awake, her heart pounding furiously against her chest. The panic from her dream was still strong in her and her unfamiliar surroundings freaked her out even more. She couldn't figure out where she was or what she was doing there.

Anakin still awake looked at Esmeralda with concern on his face. He stood up and went over to her and sat on the bed close but not too close to scare her. "Are you okay? It was just a nightmare." He raised his hands showing he meant no harm.

Esmeralda didn't recognize him immediately and her 'fight or flight' instinct overcame her as she flinched as he got close, before drawing the knife sheathed at her ankle and tackling him to the ground. "I swear if you touch me you filthy bastard, I'll gut you like the pig you are," she growled as she pressed her knife against his throat. Her rage and hatred overcame her to the point where she could no longer control her actions. Her whole body was shaking from the strength of her fear and her fury. The only thing she could comprehend was a strange man approaching her at night, and that was never good.

Anakin kept calm even under this circumstance. He had been through worse but still he needed a way to calm her down before she did something she would regret. He put a hand on her forehead and closed his eyes. Using the Force he transferred some of his calming techniques into her so she could calm down and focus on the present.

Esmeralda panted and stared down at him in confusion for a minute before gasping as she realized what it was she had done. She quickly backed off of him and retreated. "I-I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to... I just-" she stammered. Even with the calming effects of his hand, she couldn't quite pull herself together enough to even respond to him.

Anakin took the knife from her hand and put it down on a table. He put his arms around her and gave her a reassuring hug. "It's alright. You don't have to explain yourself." He sat up and as he pat her back gently.

She flinched from him at first still on edge, before breathing slowly and deeply to calm herself down. Gradually she leaned into his touch and rested against him. She laughed bitterly, "Here I was thinking to comfort you, and now look at me." She hated others seeing any weakness in her, and it didn't help that this man was a relative stranger to her.

Anakin gave a small smile as he pat her back looking at her. "Hey it's alright. Believe me and even like you said with me. Having company makes things manageable for the pain." He pulled back and smiled at her before getting up. "I'll get us some water." He walked over to get some water.

She sat down on the edge of the bed, suddenly weak at the knees, "Thank you, for helping me come back to myself. Is that the sort of thing you were talking about earlier?"

Anakin shook his head as he gave her a cup of water. "No I had to improvise a little. Sometimes there's just no time for traditional moves." He chuckled as he sat down on the bed and drink the water. He smiled looking at her. "I'm good at improvising on the fly.

Esmeralda gratefully accepted the glass of water and took a sip before giving him a playful smirk, "Hmmm, I like improvisation in all its forms. Sometimes tradition can get so... dull."

Anakin gave a small chuckle as he looked at Esmeralda. "It's true. There are something's about the Jedi I'd change." He chuckled as he looked at his water taking another sip. He looked at her with a smile. "So you sure you okay?"

Esmeralda took another deep breath and nodded, "I should be fine. It's been awhile since I've had one of those nightmares. I guess I just wasn't prepared for it." She glanced over at him, "How about you? Now that I think about it, you were awfully quick to respond. Could you not sleep?"
