Jack looked at Esmeralda, it was something cruel bring her to this kind of place without the right clothes. Seeing how she was shivering Jack thought better go away from there before something happend to her. "Do you want go to another place?" Jack asked.

Esmeralda smiled at him, "I actually love the cold air. There's something so, almost pure, about it," she shook her head in slight self-deprecation, "I probably sound silly, don't I?"

Jack nodded. "No. I don't think so." Jack said smiling. Like she still doesn't wanted go from there, Jack stand up and sit down behind her. Surrounding her with his arms, maybe his body was not warmer that she ever felt, but it was the only thing he could think of to keep her warm, her skin was in contact with his sweatshirt, with the parts that are not cold, his sleeves and chest.

Esmeralda hummed in contentment as she leaned back into his touch, resting the back of her head on his shoulder, "Do you mind if I ask your age, Jack?"

Jack nodded. "No, it's ok. I don't mind." Jack said but he wasn't sure if tell her his real age, having more than 300 years it's not easy to digest to anybody so that's why Jack asked at her first. "How old do I look?" Jack asked 'cause his real age it's 317 years.

Esmeralda looked at him closely, "Your physical form looks to be about 18 or so, but your eyes tell me you're much older than you appear."

"A gypsy woman or just wise?" Jack said joking. "Just... don't scare ok?" Jack said. "You're right, my form it's a guy of 17 years." He says. "But my true age it's 317 years." Jack smiled as he looked to another side where Esmeralda was.

Esmeralda's eyes widened in surprise before she nodded slowly, "Your gaze held too much weight and pain for an eighteen year old. I've seen similar eyes only in those who have lived far too long for their liking."

Jack looked down with a sad look. She was right, that number are too many years that a person can handle but Jack don't want to look sad in front of her that's why he wanted to change the conversation. "And you had met people like me?" Jack say refering in the age.

Esmeralda smiled gently and shook her head, "None quite your age, but the elderly in my community who had struggled with poverty and persecution their whole life, and who had seen and experienced too many horrors and tragedies in their too long lives, had a very similar gaze to yours." She had dealt with her own fair share of tragedy, and it hadn't left her unscathed.

Jack sighed. In someway he was tired of his life, being an inmortal was like a curse for him, somedays Jack wanted to give up, but he doesn't do it. "How they live... and die?" Jack asked. "How they could deal with that every day?"

Esmeralda bit out a harsh laugh, "They didn't have much choice, unless of course, they chose to commit suicide, and trust me, many did." Esmeralda had had the impulse a couple of times herself when life had seemed too hopeless, but it'd never stayed too long.
