Esmeralda backed away, shaking. She had been legitimately terrified of this man and as her mind caught up with what had just happened, she turned and walked to a corner of the room, where she threw up everything she ingested in the past twenty four hours.

Esmeralda shakily stood and made her way halfway to the door before her legs gave out. She collapsed and curled into the fetal position trying to block all of the images she had just seen from her mind and to calm herself down.

Death sits down "Won't work. Memories are constantly buried in people's minds" he says.

Esmeralda ignored him and clenched her fists as she she took deep breaths in and out to calm herself. She had seen and heard of such horrific things in Paris, as poverty can drive the hungry to do terrible things, but this man was somehow different from the rest and she couldn't stop shaking.

Esmeralda laid in that position for three hour, before she took one last deep breath and forced herself to sit up, she was surprised to find tear tracks down her cheeks, as she hadn't even noticed she had been crying. She desperately wished Death hadn't been there to see her, but there was nothing she could do about it now. She was grateful he had at least left her alone though.

Esmeralda finds a cloth and cleans off her swords, before picking up the knife he'd dodged. Her motions were mechanical and emotionless, but the mere action of doing something, was helping her remain somewhat steady.

Esmeralda looked over at him in open disgust before shuddering and closing her eyes, steeling herself to do as he'd suggested. She slowly took a couple of deep breaths before opening her eyes once more and making her way over to his body, searching him with a cold efficiency any scientist claiming to be objective would be proud of.

Death simply looks around as he can hear howling "Sounds like the hounds are on the loose" he says.

Esmeralda growled in frustration, not finding anything, "Just what the hell am I looking for?"

"Anything to survive I'm guessing" Death says. He sits down "Seems pointless to me" he thinks.

Esmeralda cursed and kicked the body away from her, "Fuck you!" She drew her swords and ran out the back of the building without caring if he followed this time. She was so over everything.
